Election campaigns are expensive and EDAs have to provide the vast majority of the financial support needed to mount the campaigns for local candidates.  Even though we may not have another federal election until 2015, we have to be prepared for a general election or a by-election at all times.  Fortunately, generous tax credits are available for political donations.

In other words,  if you give a total of $100.00 to the Guelph Conservative Party, it costs you only $25.00 after taxes.  Please give generously.  Make your cheque payable to” “The Conservative Party Fund” and mail it along with our donation form to:

Please note that rules adopted by Parliament in January 2007 place the following restrictions on political donations:

1.  Only Canadian citizens or permanent residents may donate to a political party, EDA, candidate or nominee.

2.  The maximum an individual can donate in any year is $2200, consisting of a maximum of $1100 to the National Party and a maximum of $1100 to any combination of EDAs, candidates or nominees.

3.  Cash donations above $20 are not allowed.

4.  Donations from corporations, unions, or unincorporated associations are not allowed.
